Guidelines for 8th Grade Promotion

New 8th Grade Promotion Guidelines - 
As you begin your plans for 8th grade promotion activities for the Class of 2015, please keep in mind the following district guidelines:

1. 8th grade activities will not exceed:  Promotion Ceremony, Promotion Dinner Dance, Optional breakfast/lunch/picnic - no busses needed
2. All students will participate in the promotion ceremony.
3. If your 8th grade promotion ceremony takes place outside of school, you must have prior Board Approval of the date, time before the contract is submitted to the organization or agency (i.e. City of Alhambra, City of Monterey Park, Almansor Court, etc). Please do this as soon as possible to avoid any problems.
4. All 8th grade activities, including promotion practices, are to take place no sooner than the last week of school, May 21-29, 20015.
5. The 8th grade promotion dinner dance may not be held during the school day.  I can be held after school beginning Thursday, May 21, 2015.
6. All 8th graders are required to attend school every day during the last week of school.
7. All 8th grade activities must follow the district field trip guidelines as outline in the district field trip handbook.  This includes chaperones at a 10:1 ration.
8. Any fundraising efforts should not interfere with instructional time and should be kept to a minimum. No students should be excluded from any activities due to non-participation in fundraisers or donation contributions.
9. All contracts must be submitted to the District for board approval.  No contract may signed by an employee or parent on behalf of the school or District.  Invoices must be process through the district with site administrator approval.
10. The site administrator is responsible for overseeing all 8th grade activities.
