SBAC/CAASPP Resources

Check out the practice tests available for Parents/Students to experience SBAC Testing. This is a great way to become familiar with the CAASPP interface and learn the features and tools available to students.

The link below will provide you will video tutorials of the available tools on the CAASPP interface.

Key Ways Parents Can Support SBAC Success:
  • Practice at Home: Utilize the Smarter Balanced Practice and Training Tests to familiarize students with the computer-adaptive format, including technology-enhanced questions, without the pressure of a real test.
  • Prioritize Physical Health: Ensure your child gets plenty of sleep, especially the nights before testing, and provides a healthy, nutritious breakfast to improve focus.
  • Reduce Test Anxiety: Discuss the test calmly, explaining that it is a tool for teachers to see what students have learned, not a grade-based penalty. Promote a positive attitude and avoid cramming, which causes stress.
  • Encourage Daily Habits: Encourage reading daily to strengthen literacy skills needed for all subject areas.
  • Ensure Good Attendance: Avoid scheduling appointments during the school's testing window, which often runs over three or four days.
  • Practice Test Strategies: Remind children to read instructions thoroughly and to use all available time
